Review:
The character Bill Marks, played
by Liam Neeson, is shown to be an alcoholic – you see him having a drink even
just before he gets out of the car. And the way they depict it – in shots of
slow motion – in my opinion, delivers the idea. The movie also gives hints to
other aspects of his life as well, in the beginning. They show him looking at
the photo of a little girl, presumably, his daughter, and they also show him
looking at a couple, as they depart at the airport, in a way that signifies
sadness or remorse. Liam Neeson really brings out his expressions in this
movie, and this scene in particular, it was notable. The expressions he makes
are almost as if they’re genuine. Another notable scene was where he opens up
about his past to the passengers of the plane. Indeed, brilliant acting. And
not just Neeson, but the supporting actors and actresses also give a praiseworthy
acting. The cinematography is well-done in employing the limited setting and
collaborating it with the varying lighting to deliver the expected suspense, not
to mention the brilliant music that aided in the effect. Plus the music flowed beautifully,
adding the dramatic effect for the emotional scenes. The flow of events was
indeed, wonderful – it really built the tension and held the suspense. This
movie creates an environment where no one is safe and everyone is a suspect. The
dialogues all fitted in great, and the plot was well-built, except for one
particular detail, in my opinion. I can’t really discuss it here because it will
be a spoiler, and I’m not about to spoil this movie for you. However, even with
this erring detail, this movie is still a great Thriller to watch.
