Sniper: Ghost Shooter - Review

Sniper: Ghost Shooter

Plot summary:
Following one of their missions, a team of snipers are assigned to protect the Trans-Georgian gas pipeline, in a region just outside of Tbilisi, after being approved by the Civilian-Military Fusion Centre(CFC). Their goal is to protect it and it’s personnel from local insurgents, as well as radical groups from Afghanistan and Iraq, who are believed to be led by an individual known as Roshan Gazakov AKA Abu Abdullah. During their first mission, a ghost shooter appears to know their exact locations, and starts taking out their teammates. Sergeant Brandon Beckett suspects that the Georgian colonel, Andrei Mashkov is feeding the militants their co-ordinates, and accuses him of doing so right before he attempts to attack the colonel. And as punishment for his actions, Sergeant Beckett is sent on an assignment to the Caucasus mountains, from after which he returns to investigate on this ghost shooter matter.

Review:
For a short period, the movie focuses on the hard choices and trials faced by snipers during their missions, and the toll it takes on them especially when there are children involved. And it also discusses on how  The dialogues were great – they truly brought out the military background needed for this movie, and it was a backed by some great acting as well. And there were even some humourous scenes in this movie. Chad Michael Collins(Sergeant Brandon Beckett), Billy Zane(Richard Miller), Vladimir Kolev(Colonel Babayev), and Dominic Mafham(Bidwell) were notably great in their acting. And speaking of backgrounds, the scenery depicted in this movie matched well with the story, not to mention beautiful. The music was good, but could have been better. It was fainter than it should’ve been at certain instances, in my opinion. And considering effects, the explosions and the shootings were all well-done. Especially the bullet hits looked very much real with the bloody spritz that accompanied. The story strays away from the main plot and enters a subplot at one point. But there’s nothing to complain about in that, for it delivers the action required for an action movie such as this. And the movie wraps up with some intense, action-packed, bloody, and explosive scenes, which is another big plus. This is indeed a pretty cool movie to catch.
